Melissa Salazar is an immigration lawyer at Whittenburg & Strange, P.C. in the Lubbock office. She provides immigration assistance to clients in family-based and employment-based matters. Melissa has a broad range of experience in immigration practice, including petitions and visa applications for immigrants and non-immigrants, naturalization, certificates of birth abroad, adjustment and change of status, removal defense, and bond requests. Additionally, Melissa's experience in assisting employers with non-immigrant visas, including TN, H-1B, H-2A, H-2B, change of status for B-2, H-4 and F-1 among others, J-1 waivers and immigrant visas for permanent residence status of employees. Prior to joining Whittenburg Law Firm, Melissa practiced Texas criminal law and family law, gaining experience in the two most common areas of law that commingle with immigration law. Melissa was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, and subsequently, earned her J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2009. Melissa is fluent in Spanish.
